Free agent center Primoz Brezec is still holding out hope there will be a place for him in the NBA next season.
“If I can find a good situation, for sure I would love to return to the NBA,” Brezec told HoopsHype.com. “I still think I can play on this level and I have some gas left in the tank.
“Right now, I don’t have any offers on the table from the NBA. I have several offers from Europe, but I decided I’m going to wait to the end of the World Championship before I make a decision.”
If Plan A doesn’t work out, Spain would be Brezec’s preferred destination.
“Playing in Spain was always my wish, but all the teams are set at my position,” Brezec said. “Anyway, I’m a professional. I would look at any option.”
Brezec barely played with the Sixers and Bucks last season and went on to average a career-low 0.9 points per game. He will play a much bigger role this coming month as the starting center for the Slovenian National Team at the World Championships, although he will have to do so after breaking his nose for the fifth time this week.
