Where do you feel more comfortable on the court? Playing small forward or shooting guard?
Alessandro Gentile: Frankly, both are the same. You have to prove you're able to do everything on the court.
What do you think you have to improve the most?
AG: A lot of things. You know, shooting, dribbling… I've got a lot of things to improve on.
Who do you model your game after?
AG: I don't know. I think every player is different. For example, my father (Nando Gentile) was a point guard… It's different skills. You can't compare each player. Maybe similar skills, but you can't compare.
Do you expect Italy to get a wild card for the World Cup next summer?
AG: I don't know. I really hope so and I think we deserve it. We showed on the court that we deserve it more than others. So I hope they give us one for sure.
What are your future plans? Do you see yourself playing in the NBA?
AG: Right now, not really. I'm focused on the season with Milano and I always say, the NBA is, of course, a dream for everybody… If one day it comes, I will be happy. For now I am still playing in Europe with Milano.
What are your expectations for the draft?
AG: I don't know, really. I'm not thinking about this. I don't have much interest right now. I'm focused on playing well here.
If you are selected in the NBA draft, do you expect to finish your contract with Milano or is the NBA dream your priority?
AG: I don't know. It depends on many things, you know. So if I have the opportunity to play, I will talk with the team about it. Then, of course, I would like to go to the NBA. If not and nothing changes, I will stay here with Milano.
AG: I'm a big fan of the Lakers since I was child. I support Kobe Bryant, he is my favorite player. I go with Lakers.
Has any of the Italian-born players in the NBA given you any advice?
AG: I don't have a big relationship with them. I don't have time to talk with them. I know Marco Belinelli since last summer with the National Team and we didn't talk about this. I know it's a different kind of basketball, a different world.
