Pau Gasol now has more All-FIBA selections and MVPs than any other European player in history

Even though Spain didn’t even make it to the semifinals last year, Bulls forward Pau Gasol was selected to the 2014 FIBA World Cup All-Tournament team, which may tell you something about his play there. That was Gasol’s seventh All-FIBA selection, tying Euro legends Kresimir Cosic and Sergei Belov. He’s in a class of his own now after winning the Eurobasket with Spain with MVP and All-Tournament honors. No other European player has as many All-Tournament team selections (8) or MVP awards in FIBA competitions (3).

Key: (*) Eurobasket or World Championship / Bold denotes MVP selection.
