Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy has no time for dapping. His star guard Reggie Jackson wanted a handshake or a high five or something. But the notoriously intense Van Gundy couldn’t waste a precious second with that, so Jackson was left hanging.
“I was concentrating on the game,” Van Gundy told the media afterwards. “Reggie’s very social so he was trying to give me some dap and I was focused on the play in front of me. I wasn’t trying to shun him, it’s just that play was going on.”
For the record, Jackson finished with 30 points and the Pistons won their 32nd game of the season. They needed the entire season to win 32 games in Van Gundy’s first year in Detroit.
