HoopsHype.com Interviews Stromile
Swift: "Would I ask for a trade? I don't know"
Stromile Swift: Just being better than we were last year. Be a better player and help the team be better. That's it. How big of a possibility do you think is for the Memphis Grizzlies to play the postseason? SS: If we improve our offensive and defensive rebound, I think we will make the playoffs this time. You are in a contract year now. How much does that change the perspective of things for you? SS: I just put the pressure on myself to go on, go out there and play to win. Hopefully it will turn out good for me. At some point last season, you didn't play much. If that happens again this year, how would you handle that? SS: I don't know. It would probably be tough for me, but those are things you have to get through. Would you ask for a trade? SS: I don't know. You don't know? SS: No, I don't know. So you are not sure what would do in that situation. SS: I'm not sure what I would do. Mike Miller signed a contract extension two weeks ago. Did it bother you that the club took care of him before taking care of your contract situation -- although he's been with the team only for a few months and you've been with the Grizzlies three years? SS: No. He has produced, so I think he deserves it. So... I'm happy for him. Have you talked with the management about a contract extension? SS: No, I have not. And your agent? SS: No... Well, maybe my agent has, but I have not. I'm really not worried about that right now. Would you like to sign a contract extension this month or would you rather test free agency next summer? SS: Whenever. I really don't mind. Jorge Sierra is the editor of HoopsHype.com Tell us what you think about this interview. E-mail us at HoopsHype@HoopsHype.com _____________________ |
