Shaquille O'Neal: "When you are 60, hang out with 60-year-olds, not 20-year-olds. That is all I got to say about Jerry Buss."

Where do you think you'll end up?

Qyntel Woods: Right now, I don't have any idea where I'm going to end up. I'm just going to go into the workouts and do what I can do to impress people.

You don't even have an inclination from your agent yet?

QW: Nah ... They don't even know right now. We've just got to go through this process.

Are you worried or nervous at all?

QW: Nah, I'm just going with the flow.

OK, do you have any favorite teams that you'd like to get a shot at playing for? I see you're wearing a Washington Wizards T-shirt.

QW: Ha-ha, no this is just a T-shirt from my workout there. I really don't have any favorites right now. I just want to be a professional and prove myself in the NBA somewhere.

A lot of people are saying that jumping straight from junior college to the NBA is a big challenge. Are you truly ready to make that step?

QW: Well, that's a challenge I'm willing to accept. I'm just ready to start playing against all the other top payers out there.

How about all of this stuff, the interviews? Is getting used to doing all this kind of stuff one of the biggest adjustments you have to make from junior college?

QW: Oh yeah, man. In junior college I didn't get all this media hype and attention that I'm getting now.

Does doing these interviews make you nervous? You seem a little jumpy.

QW: Oh yeah, at first it did. But I'm kind of getting used to it.

Are there any NBA players out there who you would compare your game with?

QW: I'd say ... Tracy McGrady. And Paul Pierce, I like his game. I watch both of those guys.

What's the main difference between you and T-Mac?

QW: He's about 6-9, I'm 6-8. And I think I might be a little quicker than he is, but that's about it. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not saying I'm better than T-Mac. That's just who I compare myself to.

What is something that people will be surprised about your game?

QW: Well, I think I'm going to surprise a lot of people with my ballhandling. When I'm in the open court, I can handle the ball and I can catch it pretty good off the break, too.

What do you anticipate being the biggest adjustment to playing in the NBA?

QW: I think it's going to take me a while to get used to the NBA competition.

You ever think about what that Memphis team would've done had you, Dajuan Wagner and Chris Massie all decided to be there next season instead of going pro?

QW: Yeah, we've talked about it a lot. I think if we'd have all gone there, we'd have been one of the best college teams around. We'd have been real good.

Was there one thing that made your mind up for you about going to the NBA instead of Memphis?

QW: Uh, I'd say just how I was playing and what the scouts thought of me. I think I'm ready.

How would you describe yourself in the locker room?

QW: I've always been more of a funny guy on my team. I'm the funny man. I'm a practical joker. I just like to have fun with people.

What's one of your best practical jokes?

QW: In junior college, I used to have a snake. And I'd put it in some of the guys' rooms who didn't like snakes. That was pretty funny.

What kind of snake?

QW: I had a Python.

Do you still have it?

QW: Nah, it died. I'm going to get another one, though.

How does a guy as talented as you end up in junior college?

QW: Grades and just not qualifying right away. That just made me work so much harder in junior college to get myself ready for this.

What is the biggest asset you bring to the table?

QW: I think what they like about me most is the fact that I can play two or three positions. That's what they like in players now. If someone gets hurt, then you can just step right in and fill in for them until they get back.

What position do you consider yourself?

QW: I'm a two or a three probably. Right now, I'm probably strongest at three, so I need to work on my two skills. I've got to improve, but once I do that, I'd like to play the two.

You could end up on the Clippers, which doesn't seem to carry the same kind of negative tone it had in the past. Do you like the Clippers?

QW: Oh yeah, I like them a lot. They're a good young team and are really improving. So is Golden State. I wouldn't mind going to either of those teams.
