Ater Majok RumorsAll NBA Players
The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Jose Calderon and two future second round draft picks from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for the draft rights to Ater Majok, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. “Not only is Jose an elite shooter, he is also an established and versatile player whose skill and professionalism will supplement the talent on our roster,” said Kupchak.
Eric Pincus: The Lakers have made their required tender to Ater Majok to retain his draft rights, more of a clerical thing than anything else. The Lakers drafted Ater Majok in 2011 with the 58th pick – to retain rights, a non-guaranteed tender is made each season
The tour, presented by Self Motivated Athletic Agency and Care 2 Play Sports will span from June 4 until June 15 over six different cities throughout China. In addition to McGrady, Payton, Williams and Carr, former Lakers second round pick Ater Majok and Tulsa 66ers wing Dominique Sutton will join the tour.
We’ll be honest, we were not big fans of the Lakers taking Ater Majok late in the second round. Yes, he is long (7’7″ wingspan) and athletic, but he’s not done well in organized ball. He spent one season at UConn and is now playing professionally in Australia. But long and athletic can be fun at legendary Rucker Park in New York. Which is where InsideHoops found him, having some fun at the Entertainers Basketball Classic. He wasn’t that impressive, but he did block some shots and threw down one huge dunk. So here that is. Enjoy.
