Bo McCalebb Rumors

With Jordan Crawford headed to China, the most marketable free agent remaining is Ray Allen, who is still trying to determine whether he wants to play this season. Several teams are interested, including Cleveland, Washington, Chicago, and the Los Angeles Clippers. One free agent to watch is former Fenerbahce Ulker guard Bo McCalebb, who helped Fenerbahce beat the Celtics in an exhibition game in 2012 in Istanbul. McCalebb had originally chosen to stay overseas because of a lucrative contract but has decided to give the NBA a shot. He could be a quality backup point guard .
Does it feel a little weird to be wearing this jersey? Pooh Jeter: No, because I never really got the chance to represent the U.S. When I received these colors I treated it the same way I treat playing for any other team: go out there, play hard and make sure I do my job. I’m thankful, it’s an honor. But I guess it’s a little different for you… For your Ukrainian-born teammates, it’s national pride at stake. PJ: They are probably used to seeing this. It’s been going on for a while: JR Holden representing Russia, Bo McCalebb (Macedonia), Dontaye Draper (Croatia), Zack Wright (Bosnia-Herzegovina)… It’s so many American point guards taking these spots… If I was a rookie coming out of school, it would probably be weird but I’m such a veteran in Europe and in this basketball world so we just treat it as just ‘Me coming to their team’.
Bo McCalebb released a long interview to Tuttosport. The PG of Mens Sana Siena didn’t want to talk about his future because he is too focused on the Serie A Playoffs who will start today with Montepaschi facing Cimberio Varese in the quarterfinals. “European basket is very tough. If we reach the final, we will finish the season at the end of June and on July 2 we have the first game of the Pre- Olympic Tournament. NBA? It is obvious that I would love to play there but this is not the right moment to think about that. I am too focused on Siena and the playoffs. My future? As I have just said, it is too early to talk. At the end of the season we will sit with Siena and talk” said McCalebb who has still contract with Montepaschi Siena for the next two years.
The success he continues to experience in Europe is sure to draw interest from the NBA next summer. The explosive 6-foot guard could help a lot of teams bringing a scoring spark off the bench. If you ask McCalebb, though, the NBA can keep waiting for him. “I’m going to be in Europe next season,” McCalebb told HoopsHype. “I’ve had success in Europe and I want to build on that. I’m getting comfortable here and maybe it’s not the right time to leave right now.”
