The Golden State Warriors have waived guard Cameron Jones, the team announced today. Jones, 24, has appeared all three of Golden State’s 2013 preseason games, averaging 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per contest.
The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent center Dewayne Dedmon and free agent guard Cameron Jones to contracts, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Though the Warriors essentially let the 87ers take Hobson away, they could have, nevertheless, still invited him to NBA training camp had they wanted to. Instead, RidiculousUpside.com has learned exclusively that two of his Santa Cruz teammates (Cameron Jones and Scott Machado) are expected to be in camp instead. What’s more, Stephen Curry’s little brother, Seth, is expected to be in town for that as well. Needless to say, Hobson wasn’t at all too pleased about that.
Jones has made strides since first coming up as a sharpshooting rookie with Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Spending his sophomore campaign in Santa Cruz, the guard also proved he could be a steady defender and put the ball on the floor in order to take it to the hole if necessary. He’s certainly more offensively versatile than he first appears. In any event, the progress Jones continues to make appears to be paying off. Clearly on Golden State’s radar, Jones will attend training camp with his D-League team’s NBA affiliate, RidiculousUpside.com has learned.
