Casey Prather RumorsAll NBA Players
The Phoenix Suns today announced they have waived guard Joe Jackson, guard Casey Prather and forward Jamil Wilson. The three rookies initially signed with the Suns on Sept. 26. Jackson recorded two points in seven minutes in one appearance this preseason, while Prather played five minutes in one appearance and Wilson totaled nine minutes in two appearances. The Suns’ roster now stands at 16 players.
The Phoenix Suns signed center Earl Barron and rookies Joe Jackson, Casey Prather and Jamil Wilson on Friday, giving them 18 players on the roster. The 33-year-old Barron played 12 games for the Suns in 2010-11 and last appeared in the NBA with New York in 2012-13. He has averaged 4.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 124 games in seven seasons with Miami, New York, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Portland, Golden State and Washington.
Casey Prather was a role player for three years at Florida before becoming a Wooden All-American as a senior. Going undrafted would not necessarily seem to be the end of his NBA hopes either. Prather and NBA veteran man big man Earl Barron have accepted invitations to join the Suns training camp on non-guaranteed contracts. The Suns have 13 guaranteed contracts without the Eric Bledsoe situation being resolved and can carry up to 15 players on the regular-season roster. Training camp opens in Flagstaff on Sept. 30.
