Free-agent center Hamed Haddadi, who worked out for the Knicks on Aug. 16, might not be done with the team yet. A source close to the player says it is “still possible” that Haddadi signs with New York. The Knicks technically have only one roster spot remaining, but C.J. Leslie and Jeremy Tyler both inked partially guaranteed contracts, which means they are not locks to make the official team.
The Knicks announced their first-round pick Tim Hardaway Jr. and C.J Leslie, who fell out of the draft, have been signed. Hardaway signed his standard rookie contract of 4 year, $6 million with the requisite team options after the third and fourth years. Leslie, out of North Carolina State, shockingly fell out of the draft and the Knicks scooped him up, agreeing to terms the morning after the draft on June 28th.
N.C. State’s C.J. Leslie didn’t display a consistent spirit, which is why NBA types question whether he can be a consistent performer at the next level. He will also likely have to play both forward spots depending on matchups. “He’s definitely more of a four,” one Southeast Division exec said. “He wanted to be a three. He impacted the game with his vertical lift. He will chase down balls. But he’s more athlete than basketball player.”
Pack Pride has learned that forward C.J. Leslie will be returning to NC State for his junior season. NC State forward C.J. Leslie has informed Pack Pride that he will be returning to State for his junior season. “I’m staying at State, that’s the decision I’ve made,” said Leslie. “I just felt like this was the best decision for me. The program is moving in the right direction, and I will finish it out and I’m excited about where we are heading at NC State.
