The Orlando Magic finished their regular-season roster by waiving four players Saturday, the team announced. Kadeem Batts, Drew Crawford, Seth Curry, and Peyton Siva will become free agents if they clear waivers and will likely land with the Erie BayHawks, the Magic’s NBA D-League affiliate. None of the four camp invitees played in the team’s eight preseason games.
The Orlando Magic announced Monday the signings of four players for training camp, which gets underway Tuesday at the Amway Center practice floor. Joining the Magic, who have 14 players with guaranteed deals and a 15th, Dewayne Dedmon, without a guarantee are Kadeem Batts, Drew Crawford, Seth Curry, and Peyton Siva word.
On Monday, the Magic are expected to announce they have signed guards Seth Curry, Peyton Siva and Drew Crawford and big man Kadeem Batts. But although Curry, Siva, Crawford and Batts are going to be training-camp invitees, they will not compete for spots on Orlando’s season-opening roster. The team’s plan is to waive them and, if they clear waivers, assign them to the Magic’s D-League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks.
