Dwight Buycks RumorsAll NBA Players
Dwight Buycks 10-day expires with the Lakers after the game tonight vs. Dallas Mavericks. Teams around this time of year like to sign players to 2-year, non-guaranteed deals (at least) – locks in players for summer/training camp. If the Lakers want to bring back Dwight Buycks on a two-year, they’d need to waive a player to make room – since he’s their 16th. Can’t sign a player on a 2-year deal via the hardship exception – why Steve Nash was waived for Jabari Brown. If Lakers wanted to bring back Dwight Buycks on a rest of season + next year (non-guaranteed) – need to waive a player get down to 15 1st. Lakers can keep Buycks for the rest of the season without waiving a player – but not for rest + next year (non-g). Dwight Buycks is shooting 77.8% from three-point range this season – over 5 games – 48.3% from the field – 8.4 ppg + 2.4 apg (2.2 topg).
Bill Oram: Lakers have officially added Dwight Buycks. Personally I was hoping for Vander Blue, to join Black and Brown.
The Los Angeles Lakers are signing point guard Dwight Buycks of the NBA Development League to a 10-day contract, a league source told RealGM. A dynamic, 6-foot-3 product, Buycks has averaged 18.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.2 assists for the Oklahoma City Blue in the D-League this season.
