The Dallas Mavericks announced Monday that they have signed free agent forwards Jamil Wilson and Brandon Ashley. Both players are considered long shots to make the Mavs’ regular-season roster and could end up playing for the D-League’s Texas Legends.
The Phoenix Suns today announced they have waived guard Joe Jackson, guard Casey Prather and forward Jamil Wilson. The three rookies initially signed with the Suns on Sept. 26. Jackson recorded two points in seven minutes in one appearance this preseason, while Prather played five minutes in one appearance and Wilson totaled nine minutes in two appearances. The Suns’ roster now stands at 16 players.
The Phoenix Suns signed center Earl Barron and rookies Joe Jackson, Casey Prather and Jamil Wilson on Friday, giving them 18 players on the roster. The 33-year-old Barron played 12 games for the Suns in 2010-11 and last appeared in the NBA with New York in 2012-13. He has averaged 4.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 124 games in seven seasons with Miami, New York, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Portland, Golden State and Washington.
