The Wolves have requested — and received — another 10-day hardship roster exception to keep forward Jeff Adrien on as a 16th man. Saunders said he considered adding a point guard to help rookie Zach LaVine now that Williams has missed the past four games because of back spasms. But he said the team needs a big man more, in case starting center Gorgui Dieng is unavailable. Adrien played a valuable role Wednesday defending LaMarcus Aldridge.
Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova says Adrien has earned his respect and wouldn’t mind seeing him around with the franchise long term. “He’s been playing really great,” Ilyasova told Basketball Insiders of Adrien. “He brings a lot of energy and effort to our team. Sometimes you go to a fresher place because of trades. Now we have a new addition, a new soldier to be involved. Now we have to get our confidence up, but he has fit into our team chemistry fine.”

Charlotte Bobcats President of Basketball Operations Rod Higgins announced today that the team has signed forward Jeff Adrien and waived guard Cory Higgins. Adrien will wear No. 4. The Bobcats roster remains at 14 players. The 6-7 Adrien joins the Bobcats from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D-League, where he averaged 17.6 points on .563 shooting, 11.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 blocks in five games played so far this season. He becomes the fourth Gatorade Call-Up of the season.
With less than two weeks until the Charlotte Bobcats open training camp at UNC Asheville, the team is firming up commitments for some extra players for camp. Look for Jeff Adrien (Connecticut), Paris Horne (St. John’s), Josh Owens (Stanford) and DaJuan Summers (Georgetown) to be added to the roster. The Bobcats plan to bring 17 or more players to new coach Mike Dunlap’s first training camp.
