Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has acquired guard Jeremy Lamb from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for guard Luke Ridnour and a conditional 2016 second-round draft pick. The Hornets acquired Ridnour earlier today from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for forward Matt Barnes.
David Aldridge: BTW, in case there’s confusion, OKC is still trading Lamb to CHA for Luke Ridnour and 2nd rounder. Don’t know if OKC keeps Ridnour, though.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Oklahoma City has traded Jeremy Lamb to Charlotte for Luke Ridnour and a 2016 second-round pick, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
Royce Young: Jeremy Lamb going to Charlotte for Luke Ridnour and a 2016 second round pick, per @Adrian Wojnarowski. Ridnour’s contract is fully non-guaranteed.
Randy Renner: Luke Ridnour was on Sonics roster when team moved to OKC, was very vocal critic of move. He also has a non-guaranteed contract. Before Ridnour played a game for the #Thunder that year he was traded to Milwaukee in the deal that brought Dez Mason back to Oklahoma. #Thunder
After three rocky seasons in Oklahoma City, it appears that Jeremy Lamb’s time has come to an end. A move that has long been anticipated is creeping closer to completion, as the Thunder guard is on the verge of being traded.
Chris Mannix: OKC has shopped Perry Jones, Jeremy Lamb and Steve Novak the last few days, per league sources. Financially motivated, but looking for pick.
In the locker room, the divide was growing. Injuries to Durant were keeping the team from finding a rhythm, and without the band-aid of winning to heal wounds, the Thunder’s chemistry was suffering. The cliquish aspect was impossible not to notice. Jackson, Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb all had lockers together on one side; Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka were on the other. Jackson, Lamb and Jones are close, shooting pregame together and often leaving the arena together. All three had also fallen out of favor with Brooks.
Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones III of the Oklahoma City Thunder may be role players for their team, but when it comes to their pregame handshakes, they are All-NBA.
The original deal would have sent Stephenson to Brooklyn, Nets center Brook Lopez to the Oklahoma City Thunder and various Nets and Thunder players – possibly point guard Jarrett Jack and shooting guard Jeremy Lamb – to the Hornets. A knowledgeable source told the Observer Friday morning that the deal was dormant, if not dead. The Nets pulled away from negotiations and are now exploring other options to move Lopez’s contract.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Oklahoma City, Brooklyn progressing on a Brook Lopez package that includes Jeremy Lamb and Kendrick Perkins, league sources tell Yahoo.
David Aldridge: Re: proposed three-team trade talk reported by ESPN between Brooklyn, Charlotte & OKC (Brook Lopez to OKC, Jarrett Jack and Jeremy Lamb to Charlotte, Lance Stephenson to Nets): nothing imminent. Nets have many potential deals on the table and haven’t made any decisions on which way they’ll go.
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the Thunder, Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets are discussing a deal that would send Nets center Brook Lopez to the Thunder, Hornets guard Lance Stephenson to his hometown Nets and the Thunder’s Jeremy Lamb and the Nets’ Jarrett Jack to the Hornets. If the deal remains in its current form, the person told USA TODAY Sports that Thunder center Kendrick Perkins likely would go to the Nets as well. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of trade talks.
Slowly, the healthy bodies are starting to trickle back into the Thunder lineup. Jeremy Lamb returned on Friday night from a back injury and played pretty well. Anthony Morrow went through his first full practice on Saturday and could return as early as Sunday against the Kings.
Darnell Mayberry: The Thunder had today off. I’m told Reggie Jackson is fine and is a go for Friday against Memphis. We should know more about Lamb tomorrow.
Jackson twisted his right ankle at Monday’s practice and was later seen using crutches while refraining from putting any pressure on his right foot. Lamb sustained a lower back sprain in a warm-up drill. Both are questionable for Wednesday’s season opener at Portland.
Darnell Mayberry: Reggie Jackson twisted his right ankle and Jeremy Lamb hurt his back, Scott Brooks says.
The Oklahoma City Thunder exercised its third-year options on center Steven Adams and forward Andre Roberson in addition to its fourth-year options on forward Perry Jones and guard Jeremy Lamb, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
Darnell Mayberry: A lot of the younger players have been (in Oklahoma City) for most of the summer. They get away for stretches throughout the summer but return to work with the coaching staff. Guys like Mitch McGary, Steven Adams, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones have spent the majority of their time here. What they’re working on is anyone’s guess.
