Latavious Williams RumorsAll NBA Players
The Oklahoma City Thunder has acquired a 2016 protected second round draft pick from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for guard Ish Smith, a 2015 protected second round pick, the rights to Latavious Williams and cash considerations, Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today.
Bilbao Basket officialy signs the American forward Latavious Williams. The ex Badalona and Bamberg played last season 10 games with Cajasol Sevilla closing the season in January with 10.9ppg and 7.7rpg.
(Latavious) Williams said he hasn’t decided where he’ll play next season. It’s unlikely that he gets a training camp invitation from the Thunder because OKC is set up front after signing Thabeet, and, more importantly, if Williams comes into camp and gets waived the Thunder loses his draft rights. The Thunder can’t, or better yet won’t, let that happen. Williams said he would prefer to play overseas, however, which is what I assume he’ll do once again. I asked Williams how tough it’s been to stay patient while waiting his turn and he said “I’ve been patient this long so I’m just going to keep it rolling and just do what I’ve got to do and see what’s next.”
Latavious Williams, and the route he took to get to the NBA by going straight from high school to the NBA Development League, was featured on Sunday’s edition of ESPN’s Outside The Lines. Williams was of course drafted in the second round by the Miami Heat and then traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the NBA team affiliated with the Tulsa 66ers – Williams’ D-League team.
