As he said: “The Rockets want me and in the summer I will take my decision. I believed that my style of play doesn’t fit the NBA, but the interest of the Rockets made my change my mind”. According to Eurohoops sources, Houston intends to make an offer to the player, who may be the next overseas import of the team.
Speaking in the Catalan newspaper “L’Esportiu” Marko Todorovic who is having a great season as a member of Bilbao on loan from Barcelona revealed that the Rockets are knocking his door and as Eurohoops can confirm, the interest is strong.
Marko Todorovic: “I follow the Rockets a lot (the team owns his NBA rights after a trade with the Blazers) and Nikola [Mirotic]. To play with Harden and Howard would be great, but it would be difficult to score, they do it already (laughs). I’m excited about it, but I still haven’t thought about the teammates I would have [if I play in the NBA].”
Todorovic will be one of the most exciting prospects at the next Copa del Rey ACB (19-22 February), an event that draws plenty of NBA attention. Marko was drafted by the Blazers in 2013 (45th overall pick), his rights sent later to the Houston Rockets in the Thomas Robinson trade. Although his contract with Barcelona expires next summer, NBA doesn’t seem as a priority right now. Watching his pal excel is. “I don’t have much time to follow the NBA but I know Nikola [Mirotic] is exceeding the expectations. He’s been the last Rookie of the Month in the Eastern Conference. I’m happy for him. Nikola deserves it. The hard work he did last summer playing one-and-one against me is paying results”, he said, laughing.
The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired forward Thomas Robinson from the Houston Rockets in exchange for the NBA rights to Kostas Papanikolaou and Marko Todorovic along with two future second round picks, it was announced today by General Manager Neil Olshey.
