Mike Harris RumorsAll NBA Players
Mike Harris will likely join today Puerto Rican team Leones de Ponce. The former Jazz has played in China with Zhejiang averaging 28.7 points, 14.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 9 games. Harris has also played 20 games in the NBA this season scoring 4.2 points per game.
Chinese team Zhejiang announced that they have waived Ivan Johnson and signed Mike Harris. Johnson was averaging 25.8ppg, 10.2rpg and 2apg in CBA in 25 games. Mike Harris has played with the Jazz this season averaging 4.2ppg in 20 games.
Tuesday was the deadline to cut players on nonguaranteed contracts before those deals become fully guaranteed for the season, so the Jazz opted to whittle their maxed-out roster to 14 players. That left Harris looking for a new gig, while point guard Diante Garrett and shooting guard Ian Clark survived the cut. “To his credit, he did everything we asked him to do,” Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said. “Great locker room guy, great teammate for the guys. It’s just unfortunate it’s part of the business that we had to make a decision.”
The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has waived forward Mike Harris. Following the move, Utah’s roster now stands at 14 players.
Mike Harris is still with the Jazz after seeing every other roster hopeful with a non-guaranteed contract cut, and Corbin doesn’t want Harris playing scared. “Until something change, you’re with us and you should approach it that way,” he said. “You can’t keep looking over your shoulder. ‘What’s going to happen?’ What’s going to happen?’ You just play.”
