Ognjen Kuzmic Rumors

All NBA Players

The Golden State Warriors have assigned center Ognjen Kuzmic to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League, the team announced today. Kuzmic has appeared in 10 games (all starts) for Santa Cruz this season, compiling averages of 8.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.20 blocks and 1.6 assists in 29.7 minutes. The second-year center will be in uniform for the team’s game tomorrow night against the Bakersfield Jam in Bakersfield.
Santa Cruz coach Casey Hill spent this summer learning the system Steve Kerr implemented with Golden State. The Warriors, like many teams, want players to know the system at both levels so when they’re called up or sent down — as center Ognjen Kuzmic has been often this season — they know what to do. “It’s a tool that we’re going to use, and we have used, to make our NBA team better,” Warriors general manager Bob Myers said.
Guber’s email, which was sent from his phone and obtained by Yahoo Sports, came after the NBA announced in a news release earlier Monday that the league’s 30 teams will have a record 101 international players from 37 countries and territories on opening-night rosters for the upcoming season. Warriors director of media relations Raymond Ridder forwarded the league’s release in an email sent through the franchise, saying, “The following is a great example of the growth of our league. There are 101 international players on NBA opening night rosters, which represents 22% of the league. We have five [5] international players on our roster (33%), which includes Andrew Bogut, Leandro Barbosa, Festus Ezeli, Ognjen Kuzmic and Nemanja Nedovic. We’ve come a long way…” Guber responded to the email by writing, “I’m taking rosetta stone to learn Hungarian Serbian Australian swahili and hoodish This year. But it’s nice.”
Aleksander Djordjevic was presented as a Euroleague legend at Milan, but he is also the coach of the Serbian National team. That’s why we had to ask him about what the situation of Ognen Kuzmic. Djordjevic was really carefull in his choice of words, however one thing is for sure: Expect to see Kuzmic in Spain 2014 playing for the Serbian national team. As he said: “We are informed about the situation and the wish of the player. That’s why we are in constant contact with him and also with the Golden State Warriors. Still, nothing can be considered finilized yet”.
