Ronald Roberts RumorsAll NBA Players
There are two NBA teams who showed interest in Ronald Roberts for a 10-day contract, according to sources.
Ronald Roberts signed a deal to play in the Philippines with San Miguel Beerman, according to sources. The rookie comes from the Santa Cruz Warriors where he was averaging 29.5 points, 13.5 points and 2.5 assists per game. Marc Stein was the first to report about a deal in the Philippines.
The Sixers (2-21) waived Ronald Roberts from their 15-man roster to make room for the new addition. The move came two days after the team called up Roberts from the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League. A team source said the former St. Joseph’s standout would be sent back to the 87ers.

Ronald Roberts Jr, former Saint Joseph’s alumn, has signed a three-year deal, partially guaranteed, with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told Sportando. We anticipated the story last July 29th and now the deal seems complete.
Ronald Roberts is apparently headed to 76ers training camp this fall. A French Web site reported Roberts, an undrafted forward from St. Joseph’s, has signed a three-year contract with the Sixers. He supposedly had until Aug. 1 to tell his French team (Chalon) that he planned to play there, which he declined to do. There are rumblings that a portion of Roberts’ first year could be guaranteed. Adam Pensack, Roberts’ San Francisco-based agent, said Monday that he’s “going to have no comment” about contract terms, though Pensack added Roberts “had some interest with Philadelphia.”
Gabriel Pantel-Jouve: My sources just told me that too. RT @Emiliano Carchia Mike Green close to agree to terms with Paris-Levallois sportando.com/en/europe/fran…
Ronald Roberts Jr, former Saint Joseph’s alumn, will likely be a part of Sixers training camp, source told to Sportando. Roberts made a good impression during the Orlando Summer League with the Sixers and he may fight for a spot in the roster.
He would be playing in two NBA summer leagues — in Orlando with the Philadelphia 76ers and in Las Vegas with the Miami Heat. “I want to show these teams my motor, that I never stop playing hard, how I can rebound, get up and down the floor, be athletic,” said Roberts, who averaged 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds last season for at St. Joe’s team, and went for 15 points and 10 rebounds when St. Joe’s lost to eventual national champion UConn in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, losing 89-81 in OT. “And show my mid-range jumper and my ball-handling, so I’m hoping to show both of those things in the summer leagues.” Former Cincinnati guard Sean Kilpatrick of White Plains and former St. John’s forward JaKarr Sampson are also on the Sixers’ summer league team. St. John’s and St. Joe’s met in the NIT during Roberts’s junior season. “I played against him, he’s good,” he said. “If you look at the roster, they have a lot of athletic guys on the team so I’m looking forward to playing with those guys.”
