  A finesse player... His impact in the league was limited after all those knee injuries... Could barely jump... Could still hit that nice mid-range shot.
Attended the Lawrence HS in Lawrence, Kansas.
Played college ball at Kansas until 1988.
Selected by the Los Angeles Clippers as 1st overall pick in the 1988 NBA Draft.
Played with the Clippers from 1988-89 to 1993-94, when he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks.
Signed with the Phoenix Suns in 1994-95. Played there until 1998-99.
Traded to the Orlando Magic on August 1999. Then traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Signed with the Utah Jazz in 2000-01.
Joined the Dallas Mavericks in 2001-02. Waived in June 2002.
Signed with the Detroit Pistons in February 2003.
Retired in 2003 and accepted a position as director of student-athlete development/team manager in the Kansas basketball program.
Named to the USA Today All-USA 1st Team in 1984.
Named All-America 1st Team in 1986-87 and 1987-88.
Named USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year in 1987.
Won the NCAA Championship and the College Player of the Year award with Kansas in 1987-88.
Named Final Four's Most Outstanding Player in 1988.
Won the NBA Sixth Man Award in 1997-98.
Selected for the 1989, 1993 and 1994 NBA All-Star Game.
Named to the All-time All-USA 2nd Team by USA Today in 2003.
