The Knicks’ young star took to Twitter to like a post that showed an edited image of Irving in a New York jersey, with the caption, “All that matters. Bring him back home to play with Porzingis.” That post was replying to a tweet in which ESPN’s Ian Begley reported that New York “would consider trading Carmelo Anthony and future first rounders” for the Cleveland point guard.
Collison, 36, told The Oklahoman that his future is still up in the after this season, which will be his 15th in the NBA. “I don’t know for sure,” Collison said when asked if 2017-18 is his final season. “I know I’m a lot closer to the end than the beginning. It’s hard to ever close a door. You just never know for sure. “I’ll be 37 when the season starts. I don’t want to totally close the door, because you never know, but it very well could be. I’m just gonna try to be ready for it, enjoy it, and as the year goes on, make a decision at the end of the year, I guess.”
New York Knicks general manager Scott Perry revealed on ESPN’s SC6 that he has not yet met team owner James Dolan. Perry, who was officially hired as Knicks GM last Friday, said he’d dealt with team president Steve Mills throughout the hiring process rather than Dolan. “I have not met with him yet, but I’m looking forward to that,” Perry said of Dolan.
