This past Monday, Gay, 29, spoke with popular Sactown Royalty, a popular fan site hosted by SBNation, about his frustrations from last season and scratching his head about his future with the Kings. Following those comments, Gay told ABC10 on Thursday afternoon that he had since spoken with Divac. “I have talked to Vlade,” Gay said from his Nike Skills Academy at Hardwood Palace in Rocklin. “I can’t say since Monday stuff has changed, but I just feel like we have a little bit of time to start changing things.”

Storyline: Rudy Gay Trade?
“There’s been things before that I’ve been unhappy about that I haven’t been vocal about, so I can’t see it on my side, but I do feel as though if there’s nothing going to be happening, then they should vocalize that.” Gay described his conversation with Divac as a positive one and said he appreciated that he would take his call. “At this point in my career I just want to be happy,” said Gay. “I talked to Vlade and we’re trying to make that happen.”

The Bucks are still looking to find a taker for Greg Monroe and it sounds like they’ve spoken to the Pelicans about him this offseason. “I think [the Bucks] got closer than maybe has been reported with New Orleans during either the draft or free agency,” ESPN’s Zach Lowe said during today’s episode of The Lowe Post podcast (54:25 mark for the relevant portion). “Monroe’s a New Orleans native,” ESPN’s Marc Stein added. “I think that’s where he wants to end up.” Neither Lowe nor Stein suggested that a deal between the Pelicans and Bucks is currently in the works, but Stein expects the big man to eventually be moved, and those two clubs also discussed Monroe prior to this year’s trade deadline.
Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers said his team has plans in place to allow Paul Pierce to retire as a member of the Boston Celtics if Pierce elects to end his playing days this summer. During an appearance on The Vertical podcast, Rivers said he believes Pierce hasn’t made up his mind about his future. “If Paul decides to retire, then we’re going to make sure that Boston picks him up for one day and he retires a Celtic, because that’s what he should retire as,” Rivers said during the podcast released Thursday. “So we have all that in place. We just don’t know what he’s going to do.”
