The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has guard Bo McCalebb. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. McCalebb, 6-0, 183, most recently played for Bayern Munich of the BBL in Germany. Undrafted in 2008, McCalebb is a seven-year veteran in Europe, playing in Turkey, Serbia and Italy, in addition to Germany. McCalebb’s professional highlights include five league championships, two All-Euroleague Second Team selections (2010, 2012), two Italian League Finals MVP awards (2011, 2012), the 2010 Serbian League Finals MVP, the 2012 Italian League MVP and the 2012 Alphonso Ford Trophy – awarded to the Euroleague’s scoring champion.

Tim MacMahon: Andrew Bogut said he “would have asked for a buyout” if traded to a team other than the Mavs. ESPN.com reported in July that the Warriors presented the big man the option of being traded to the Mavs or Rockets. Bogut declined to specifically discuss the Houston possibility. “I like Dallas,” he said

Cavs general manager David Griffin and coach Tyronn Lue were about 30 minutes late getting to the podium for the start of media day Monday. The reason: About 10 minutes before they were supposed to speak, Griffin received a phone call from Raymond Brothers, Mo Williams’ agent. Williams wasn’t going to make it out for training camp after all, Brothers told him. Williams had flip-flopped on his own decision to play for one more season and would in fact retire. “Throughout the summer … it was in debate on what Mo was going to choose to do,” Griffin said. “He vacillated a little bit, and so we were planning on this eventuality throughout.”
