Jill Martin, the MSG Network Knicks’ sideline reporter, is back in Miami. Again, she’s at the beach, wearing a bikini and a Knicks hat. The only difference this time is that the Knicks season is done and she can now hang out with Juwan Howard. Howard is relaxing after having scored 12 points in 17 minutes in the Heat’s final regular season game. He has yet to make an appearance in the playoffs. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James also enjoyed some time at the beach this weekend. The Big Lead

"Lance Stephenson?" James asked incredulously. "You want a quote about Lance Stephenson? I'm not even going to give him the time." Old-school enforcement ensued. Veteran Juwan Howard aggressively approached Stephenson before the series' next game. Dexter Pittman, a reserve big man who played for Miami last season, clotheslined Stephenson during the waning moments of the fifth game. "I think you've got to stop and wonder at that point, Is it me or is it everybody else?" Burke says. Stephenson is right. Indiana did win the third game and assumed a 2-1 series lead. But then James turned in a 40-point, 18-rebound, nine-assist masterpiece in the next game. Miami won the final three games on its way to a championship, and Stephenson learned something about tugging the tiger's tail. "It gave LeBron a little trigger," Stephenson says. "It made him go harder the next game. He responded well after I did that. Coach got on me a little bit and I just calmed down." Grantland

Chris Webber, one of the Fab 5 members, is in attendance at tonight’s National Championship game between Michigan and Louisville. There were questions as to whether or not Webber would and should attend the game. Thankfully, Webber decided to show up and possibly save us from 30 shots of Kevin Ware. Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, Ray Jackson, and Jalen Rose are also in attendance. The Big Lead

Juwan Howard was back on the bench on Sunday after being cut by the Heat in the preseason. The Heat signed Howard to a 10-day contract on Saturday, but he likely will be with the team for the rest of the season. “He brings a championship pedigree,” Spoelstra said. “He fits into the fabric of our culture. To be honest, it felt a little strange not having him with us.” Miami Herald

“Absolutely fits into the fabric of our culture,” Erik Spoelstra said. “To be honest, it felt a little bit strange not having him with us. It makes sense, it feels right. And we were also able to do our due diligence through the first half of the season, and keep our flexibility.” Spoelstra noted the additions of Varnado and Chris Andersen since the start of the season. “The bigs that we have fit our personality, shotblockers, high energy, high motor guys,” Spoelstra said. “Juwan gives us the veteran experience, can play two positions, actually three positions, we actually started working him at the ’3′ last season. But it’s more than that with Juwan.” Palm Beach Post

The veteran power forward, who has been around the team almost the entire season in what was termed an undefined management role, brings the Heat back to the NBA maximum of 15 players. At 40, Howard becomes the oldest player to play for the Heat in the franchise's 25 seasons. "Juwan is a key part of the championship culture here in Miami," Heat President Pat Riley said in a statement. "He is essential to this team and can still play this game at a high level in some of our biggest games yet to come. He has a unique veteran savvy and will provide leadership and experience to our team." Chicago Tribune

The Miami Heat are strongly considering signing 40-year-old forward Juwan Howard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. After playing the past two years with the Heat, Howard has remained unsigned this season. He has stayed in shape and has been working out throughout the season. Yahoo! Sports

How great is it that Michigan and Indiana are both really good again at the same time for the first time in two decades? Thoughts on this rekindled, classic Big Ten rivalry, Bob? "I'm not sure what the Fab Five was," Knight said Thursday during an ESPN broadcast of an Alabama-Arkansas game. "They never won anything. "They never won a championship, they didn't get anywhere, they got beat." CBSSports.com

Shortly after ESPN showed a promotion for Saturday's matchup between No. 1 Michigan and No. 3 Indiana in Bloomington's Assembly Hall, play-by-play man Rece Davis began to offer a historical perspective on how long it'd been since Michigan had reached the No. 1 spot in a national poll. And, naturally, the Fab Five's 1992-93 team -- which began the year as the preseason No. 1 -- came up. Knight, as is often the case these days, was not impressed. "Fab indicates, to me, that you've won something," Knight said. "I've never been able to understand what 'Fab' was," he added. "It wasn't championships, I always knew that." CBSSports.com

Chicago-born NBA champ Juwan Howard recently put his sky-high pad in Trump Tower up for sale to the tune of $2.9 million. Listed roughly two weeks ago, according to Estately, the mini palace in the sky boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a half bath and three fireplaces. If sitting on a primo piece of downtown real estate weren't enough of a status symbol, there are few views that can match the one from Howard's condo, which overlooks part of the Loop, River North and Lake Michigan. Among those getting in a workout before Sunday's game was veteran forward Juwan Howard, who is not on the Heat's preseason roster. "Having fun," Howard, 39, said when asked why he was around. "You know me, having fun." The Heat said Howard is "helping out in an undefined role." He is traveling with the team for their weeklong preseason trip to China. South Florida Sun-Sentinel
