Kerr for more than a month has spoken publicly about wanting to experiment with Andre Iguodala and Leandro Barbosa on the court together. That Iguodala has been helping run the second unit in the preseason is still surprising to some given his history in the league. "I'm pretty shocked," Barbosa said. "I don't think Andre has been in that position before for the many years that he's been in the NBA. He's doing a great job. "We have a really good chemistry so far, and hopefully we can bring that energy to the (regular-season) games." Oakland Tribune

Guber's email, which was sent from his phone and obtained by Yahoo Sports, came after the NBA announced in a news release earlier Monday that the league's 30 teams will have a record 101 international players from 37 countries and territories on opening-night rosters for the upcoming season. Warriors director of media relations Raymond Ridder forwarded the league's release in an email sent through the franchise, saying, "The following is a great example of the growth of our league. There are 101 international players on NBA opening night rosters, which represents 22% of the league. We have five [5] international players on our roster (33%), which includes Andrew Bogut, Leandro Barbosa, Festus Ezeli, Ognjen Kuzmic and Nemanja Nedovic. We've come a long way…" Guber responded to the email by writing, "I’m taking rosetta stone to learn Hungarian Serbian Australian swahili and hoodish This year. But it's nice." Yahoo! Sports

Leandro Barbosa has had discussions with a few NBA teams about a possible free agent deal, hoping to use the upcoming FIBA World Cup to further prove his health, the 11-year veteran told RealGM. Barbosa hasn’t held visits with any team, nor is he considering a return to the Brazillian league. The 31-year-old has focused on his Team Brazil, which lost to USA Basketball in its first exhibition game. “I don’t know what owners think about the World Cup, but hopefully I do a great job over there and a team sees,” Barbosa said on Sunday. “I feel healthy and my body is feeling healthy. If I have free agency in my mind, I won’t be able to be myself on the court. Hopefully, I sign a contract and I’ll be happy.” RealGM

So far, 29 10-day contracts have been signed this season, and seven were then signed to a second 10-day contract. Three players – Leandro Barbosa in Phoenix, Chris Johnson in Boston and Cartier Martin in Atlanta -- have been signed for the remainder of the season after first signing on with a 10-day contract. More than ever, however, teams must be judicious in which players they sign. If a player performs so well on a 10-day contract, it might be difficult to sign him to favorable long-term deal.
