The Golden State Warriors have guaranteed Acie Law's contract for the remainder of the season and the point guard couldn't be happier. Law loves the situation in Golden State and is ecstatic to be with the Warriors after being waived from the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season. Sources close to the point guard say that he would likely be interested in re-signing with the Warriors this summer if the team were to offer a two or three year deal. After playing for five teams in four years, Law wants some stability and would be thrilled if that came with the Warriors. HoopsWorld |

The Warriors signed Acie Law, filling their void at backup point guard. Golden State traded Law to Charlotte on Nov. 16, 2009, as part of the Stephen Jackson deal. "I told my agent," Law said, "when he mentioned this team, 'Man, that's one of the best places I've been, that I really enjoyed.' " Law, who was waived by Memphis on Dec. 4, signed for the veteran minimum -- which for him is $916,100 prorated. He played five games with the Warriors in 2009, averaging 6.2 points in 13.2 minutes. J.J. Barea ($1.8M expiring) is someone the Knicks have had their eye on, but Dallas still covets him while Roddy Beaubois develops. Obviously the most important factor in any move the Knicks make involves preserving cap space for 2011 and a potential run at Carmelo Anthony. Purely speculation, but Acie Law, who was just waived by the Grizzlies, could be an option, though the Knicks would have to waive a player to clear a spot on the roster. Newsday |

![]() Barring a change in plans, the Grizzlies are expected to soon hold a workout with free-agent guards Patrick Beverley and Garrett Temple. This could signal a roster change considering Law is on a non-guaranteed deal that allows the Griz to waive him Dec. 8 without any future obligations. Normally, teams must guarantee contracts in January. But Law accepted an early date for the opportunity to be the reliable backup behind Mike Conley, and he hasn't performed well. Memphis Commercial Appeal General manager Chris Wallace insisted that nothing is imminent and that the team was merely acting on prior interest in free agents Patrick Beverley and Garrett Temple. "They're younger players floating around right now," Wallace said. "We just wanted to get a good look at them. They are two of the better names out there." Memphis Commercial Appeal |
