Payne, a junior, said he's not paying attention to the NBA hype that has steadily built over the past six games — a wise strategy for a player who's finally beginning to live up to his recruiting hype. "I'm not even looking at that right now — people start looking at that, and they go down the drain,'' Payne said following Tuesday's practice. "I just want to play better and better. I've got another year. "I want to be a solid player, I want to play in the post, be able to face up, be able to be an all-around player, guard different types of players,'' Payne said, asked what's ahead for him.
