The Atlanta Hawks have assigned guard John Jenkins to the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League, and forward/center Adreian Payne to the Austin Spurs, both pursuant to the flexible assignment rule, it was announced today by Head Coach Mike Budenholzer. Jenkins has played in five games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants this season, averaging 19.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 23.8 minutes (.594 FG%, 1.000 FT%). In 11 total games (six starts) with Austin and Fort Wayne, Payne has compiled 13.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 28.4 minutes (.452 FG%, .759 FT%). NBA.com

The Hawks intend to send John Jenkins and Adreian Payne on an NBA Development League assignment Friday. The move will give the little-used players needed game action. Jenkins and Payne will be assigned to Fort Wayne, the Hawks’ D-League affiliate. The Mad Ants play six games in 10 days beginning Friday. Both are expected to travel Thursday evening. The Atlanta Hawks have recalled rookie forward/center Adreian Payne from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by Head Coach Mike Budenholzer. Payne appeared in two games with the Mad Ants (at Erie on 11/21 and 11/22), averaging 12.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 31.1 minutes. In last night’s contest, he totaled 17 points, 13 rebounds (five on the offensive glass), two assists and two blocks in 31 minutes (4-9 FGs, 9-11 FTs). NBA.com

The Atlanta Hawks have assigned rookie forward/center Adreian Payne to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by Head Coach Mike Budenholzer. He was Atlanta’s first-round pick (15th overall) in 2014. The Mad Ants’ next two games are Friday and Saturday night at Erie. NBA.com

Adreian Payne will get a chance to play. The Hawks will send the first-round draft pick to the NBA Development League this weekend for pair of games with Fort Wayne. Payne has not played this season. He has been inactive in nine of the Hawks’ 10 games. He missed the first five games with plantar fasciitis in this left foot. “I’m looking forward to it,” Payne told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution following practice Thursday. “It’s a great opportunity for me to go out and get some game reps and get ready to get back with my team. We’ve got a lot of players. We are deep. It’s just a process that you’ve got to go through. I’m willing to do it because I want to get better. Hawks rookie Adreian Payne was inactive for the fourth straight game Saturday as he continues to battle plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The forward/center has yet to play a game this season.
