Mavericks forward Al-Farouq Aminu joined KRLD-FM 105.3 on Wednesday. Here are some highlights. On his possible return to the Mavericks: “People are still playing now, so it’s hard to tell, but I really want to. … Nobody likes moving and different things like that. I’ve been in L.A. then I went to New Orleans and now here. It’s always better to stay where you’re at but things happen. But it would be nice.” Dallas Morning News

On why he would pitch Dallas to other free agents: “I guess it’s what I went through last year when I was coming to play here. It’s a great city. It doesn’t get that cold, which is nice. Also, the practice facility is in the arena is close, as well as the airport, so it’s not a lot of long hours you have to drive back and forth to places. It does become a drag. You’re going to play with great players. Obviously you’re probably going to win and then you’re going to have a chance at a championship.” Dallas Morning News

When Al-Farouq Aminu signed a two-year, $2.08 million deal with Dallas last summer, the goal was to help the Mavericks win, get some playing time and re-establish his value as an NBA player. He couldn’t help the Mavericks get past the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs, but his play in the postseason did wonders for his own stock which has him on radar of a number of teams – including the Celtics. Chandler is so high on Aminu that he compares him favorably to former Chicago Bulls superstar Scottie Pippen. “The first day I saw him I told him he should go back and watch Scottie Pippen, watch the tapes on him because that athletic, long built of being able to really hound guys with long arms and strength, I feel like he has that,” Chandler said. “And he has the motor to stay after it as well.” Fort Worth Star-Telegram

The Dallas Mavericks believe forward Al-Farouq Aminu is one of the best bargains of the summer. Aminu, 23, officially signed with the Mavs on Tuesday. It’s a two-year deal for the veteran’s minimum with a player option for the second season. That’s tremendous value for a player who was the eighth overall pick in the 2010 draft and started in New Orleans the last two seasons. ESPN.com
