The New Orleans Hornets will conduct a mini-camp for their Las Vegas summer league team on July 11-13 at the Alario Center. The workouts will include draft picks Austin Rivers (10th overall) and Darius Miller (46th overall), along with four players from the 2011-12 Hornets end-of-season roster (Al-Farouq Aminu, Jerome Dyson, Xavier Henry, and Darryl Watkins) are scheduled to participate. The league-owned Hornets deactivated Kaman last week and told the former All-Star on Friday that he could wait at home while team officials tried to find a new trade home for him. The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a deal in principle with the league-owned New Orleans Hornets to acquire guard Chris Paul, according to sources close to the process. The Clippers, sources said, will send guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul. ESPN.com

The Clippers would send the Hornets center Chris Kaman, backup second-year guard Eric Bledsoe, second-year forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick they got from the Minnesota Timberwolves that is unprotected in the 2012 draft, considered to be one of the best in recent years. Clippers owner Donald Sterling and the NBA have to sign off on the deal. A package from the Lakers for Paul was turned down by the league. The NBA will probably review the Clippers deal Monday. Two sources told SI.com early Sunday that the Clippers and Hornets had re-engaged in discussions, and a source close to Clippers second-year guard Eric Bledsoe said late Sunday night that he was under the impression a deal had been agreed upon and that he would likely be traded to the Hornets. When reached by phone late Sunday night and asked if an agreement in principle had been reached, Clippers team president Andy Roeser declined comment to SI.com. According to the L.A. Times , the Hornets would receive Bledsoe, center Chris Kaman, second-year forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the Clippers' unprotected, 2012 first-round draft pick that New Orleans general manager Dell Demps has coveted all along. The deal must still be approved by Clippers owner Donald Sterling, and the NBA, which owns the Hornets. The L.A Times claims the league will likely review the deal on Monday. SI.com

Another source indicated Wednesday night that New Orleans wasn't interested in the Clippers' second-year forward, Al-Farouq Aminu, as part of the package, either. Aminu would be more expendible if the Clippers sign Mavericks free agent small forward Caron Butler, who visited them Monday night, or Detroit's Tayshaun Prince. Butler was in New Jersey Wednesday night visiting with the Nets, after very positive meetings earlier in the week with the Bulls and Spurs. NBA.com
