Both Enes Kanter and Alec Burks had their moments and contributed nicely at times for the Jazz in their first years, but it is not a surprising development that they didn’t get any Rookie of the Year attention. That is, until you consider this: Josh Selby finished 12th in the voting for the prestigious award. To answer your “Who?” question: Selby, a point guard from Kansas, played in 28 games for the Memphis Grizzlies this past season. And take a look at this shining stats: 2.3 points, 1.1 assists while shooting 34.7 percent from the field and 13.3 percent from 3-point range. (Granted, that long-range percentage would’ve made him one of the Jazz’s better shooters, but still. … Yes, I’m kidding.) Deseret News

Rookie Alec Burks wasn't about to make a fuss about his time on the court — or on the bench — during his recent four-game sitting streak. "I'm good," he said when asked about lack of playing time during that week. "Just whenever I get in, I'm going to be aggressive." Interesting choice of words — and, quite frankly, a perfect attitude for the youngster to have. Because the 20-year-old was aggressive when he finally got in again, Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin is more convinced than ever that he needs to find time for Burks. "I have to rethink it," Corbin said, regarding the shooting guard's diminished role. Deseret News

After two days of informal discussions between teams and agents, multiple sources told The Salt Lake Tribune that Utah will likely focus on making minor additions to what will be an 11-man roster once rookies Enes Kanter and Alec Burks are signed. The Jazz are expected to primarily focus on adding a proven backup point guard, and could use veteran minimum contracts to fill out the remainder of their roster. Salt Lake Tribune

Burks seemed strangely nervous when we interviewed him. That surprised me, in that if you're a star in the Big 12, and you've lived in a major media market (Boulder is just outside Denver), you should be experienced and comfortable fielding media questions. Charlotte Observer
