NBA teams have until June 30 to tender qualifying offers to potential restricted free agents. The Cavs have three such players in center Semih Erden and forwards Alonzo Gee and Luke Harangody. They'll definitely give Gee a qualifying offer. He said he wants to return to the Cavs. Erden didn't sparkle last season and at times, he sat on the bench for long periods. He's still a 7-footer with skills. News-Herald

There's little doubt the Cavs will make a qualifying offer to Gee and try to sign him to a multiyear contract. I've gotten no indication from Gee he wants to play elsewhere, so it's just a matter of striking a deal. I'll be interested to see how much the Cavs offer him. He's a starter right now on a bad team, but ultimately he might return to the bench where he was so effective to begin the season. The Cavs love his energy, athleticism and attitude. As for Gibson, about half of his $4.8 million for next season is guaranteed. My guess is he will be back with the team, at least to start the season. But Gibson needs to find a way to remain healthy and rediscover his jump shot. Cleveland Plain Dealer

Gee, 24, had 10 points, five rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes in the Cavs' 113-105 loss at Utah on Tuesday. He plays with confidence and uses his athleticism to his advantage. "I feel like I belong," he said. "I continue to keep working and keep getting better and keep improving." Scott loves the improvement he sees in Gee. "The biggest leap with 'Zo is he has some confidence," he said. News-Herald

Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld announced Monday that the team has signed point guard Lester Hudson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not announced. Hudson appeared in six games earlier this season for Washington, before being waived on November 22nd to make room for Alonzo Gee. RealGM

He realized that his time with the Wizards was about to come to an abrupt end when he got a phone call on Monday morning asking him to come in and meet with Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld and vice president of basketball administration Tommy Sheppard. So when he sat down and they told him that he was getting waived, Hudson wasn't shocked. "I knew it was going to be something," Hudson said before leaving the arena for the last time. "The last couple of days, I had a feeling about something. I don't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. And it was this." Washington Post

Grunfeld and Sheppard gave Hudson some words of encouragement, telling him that he belongs in the NBA and should find his way back in due time. Placed in this position last season, Hudson had to earn his keep in the NBA Developmental League, but Hudson said he hadn't considered that option just yet. "I don't know about the D-League. I don't think it's on my mind right now. Might be D-League, but it depends," Hudson said. Washington Post

The Wizards have completed a somewhat startling reunion, as the team has brought back swingman Alonzo Gee, according to multiple league sources. In order to make the move possible, the Wizards waived reserve point guard Lester Hudson. Washington Post

Gee received a non-guaranteed deal with the Wizards, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The team would have until early January to determine whether or not to keep him for the rest of the season. The source added that Gee's signing is not related to the health of Josh Howard, who has yet to play this season while recovering from left knee surgery. Howard is still on schedule to come back some time in December. Washington Post
