Slumped in his chair at the Air Canada Centre on Monday, Johnson cringed at the suggestion this year’s record-setting Raptors could see some core players swap jerseys in the coming months. “I don’t really want to think about it, man. I hope we have everybody back,” Johnson said. “I haven’t heard anything or made any decisions yet. We just got to sit down and talk about it, and everything will play out this summer.” Toronto Star

Paul Pierce says the Toronto Raptors don’t scare them because they don’t have the “it” factor. Raptors big man Amir Johnson fires back. The Wizards take Game 1, 93-86. They then take a 60-49 lead into halftime in Toronto in Game 2, and Wizards guard Bradley Beal says this: “[The Raptors] think that we’re some punks. They think that they can push around. Heard Dwane say after the game that they had a play set up out of a previous timeout, a high screen-roll they had run a possession or two before and that may not be their bread and butter go-to play (that’d be DeRozan curling off a side screen or taking a handoff from Amir Johnson on the left wing) but at least it’s something that might get the defence moving, create some sort of mismatch and get a good look. But then to hear post-game interviews with the players and listen to at least one of them (Amir) suggest that there was nothing called speaks to a missed communication that they simply can’t have. Amir Johnson and DeMar DeRozan believe the Raptors will figure it out. “We’re good though,” Johnson interrupted a questioner after Saturday’s loss in New York City who was pointing out things have not gone well during this five-game losing skid. “We’re still good ... We can’t feel sorry for ourselves even though we’re losing.” Toronto Sun

The Raptors have five ending contracts: Amir Johnson ($7 million), Landry Fields ($6.25 million), Chuck Hayes ($5.95 million), Lou Williams ($5.45 million) and Tyler Hansbrough ($3.32 million). It’s unlikely the Raptors look at anything involving Williams, but it seems that any combination of the others would get traction from Toronto’s side. The Raptors do own almost all of their future picks both in the first round and the second round, with their 2015 second going to Atlanta as the only traded pick at this point. The Raptors do have a couple of pick swap options, but for the most part they have draft picks to play with if so inclined. Basketball Insiders
