You mentioned Andre (Miller) talking to the team. Is the off the court side of your team the same as on the floor in terms of a new guy playing that leadership role all the time or who is holding that torch? Andre Miller: No, I think Andre is the pro in our locker room. I think Iguodala will get there. I think Ty is coming there. I think Gallo (Gallinari) — I always think it's a little harder for a European player to take that responsibility, but I think Gallo has that personality and mind to do that. And our bench has a unity. Our practices are pretty good because the bench goes after the first unit. I mean, right now the bench is mad because I'm not letting Andre Miller practice much and so they're not getting their leader. There's a lot of trash talking in our practices in our practices about who wins the practices. You don't win a lot of practices, but that's all good stuff. USA Today Sports |

Dick Vitale whispers louder than Andre Miller screams. But in the pregame locker room, the Nuggets' veteran guard delivered a powerful, passionate speech, channeling the oration of, say, Jesse Jackson, who just happened to be at Tuesday night's Nuggets-Thunder game. "One amazing speech — guys were just amped up, ready to play," Denver forward Kenneth Faried said after the Nuggets' 114-104 win, Denver's 13th consecutive, a franchise-NBA record. "He said it doesn't matter that we're coming off a back-to-back, it doesn't matter that we went to overtime — we're going to play this game hard and with pride. We don't have any excuses. Andre Miller is a guy who doesn't really say much, but when he talks, everybody listens, nobody's playing around. "Everybody locks in." Denver Post |

![]() If there’s an NBA player who doesn’t want more minutes, then perhaps that player has a problem with being too content. Andre Miller, like many others, indeed would like to play more, and said as much recently. But his agent explained Friday that Miller is committed to the Nuggets — the team Miller signed with this past summer during free agency — and Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri said, “Andre is not going anywhere. We want to win.” Denver Post But agent Andy Miller spoke to his client, and the agent said Friday, “From my perspective, nothing has changed in his goals and why he signed with the team. He wants to continue to contribute, and hopefully making the playoffs and a surge deep into the playoffs will also show his commitment.” Denver Post ![]() Miller, who is the backup to Ty Lawson, said his career goal is to play 15 seasons in the NBA. Lawson is their point guard of the future and their starter of the present. “I want more minutes,” Miller said. “If we were losing I would really be complaining. But it’s going as it goes.” "I don't know how much longer they want me here. I definitely would like to contribute more,” Miller added when I asked if he wants to finish in Denver. “I’m not just going to sit back and settle in and be a backup and let my career just fade away. I’m competitive in that way.” Colorado Springs Gazette |

While these guys have put up so many points after starting so young, it remains to be seen whether either could break the NBA record of 38,387 put up by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from 1969-89. Bryant, who is 34 and has 30,619 career points, obviously could get there well before James. But he won't if he sticks with what he has speculated and retires when his contract expires at the end of next season. "I think Kobe will keep playing until he can't because he's so competitive," said Denver guard Andre Miller, a 14-year veteran who doesn't buy that Bryant will hang it up at age 35. Even if he keeps playing, Miller isn't so sure Bryant will break Abdul-Jabbar's record. But Nuggets coach George Karl believes it will happen. "I would think Kobe could do it," Karl said of Bryant, who will face James on Thursday night at the Staples Center. "He can do that in 3 ½ years." FOXSports Florida Records aside, when both players are retired, who's going to have the most points? "I would think Kobe because when all is said and done, I just don't think LeBron likes to score enough," Karl said. Miller agrees. "I think Kobe will score more because I think that when LeBron gets to be more of a veteran, he'll score less," Miller said. "I think that he'll still be getting like eight or nine rebounds and assists a game but maybe only 20 points instead of what he's scoring now." FOXSports Florida |

Asked which of his players he deems worthy for consideration, Karl paused for a second. "That would be really difficult to say," Karl said. "I'd probably say Andre Miller. From the standpoint of efficient minutes, Andre's given us as efficient minutes as anybody. But I think Ty (Lawson) and (Andre Iguodala) and (Danilo Gallinari) all have had moments. And I'm excited, because I think they all are getting stronger and more confident, and their consistency is getting at a higher level. But because of their up-and-down moments, it's going to be difficult for them to get any recognition." Denver Post |

Where does Andre Miller rank among NBA point guards all time? Well, his coach says maybe top five. For real. (As one fan, @Alf954, tweeted when told of the proclamation: "Alphabetically by first name?") "I'm taking about a true point guard," Nuggets coach George Karl said, "who plays the game the way a point guard should play, not (necessarily) with the 3-ball and the scoring point guards. But the 'trueness' of the position, I think he's one of the best." Denver Post |

So beyond the fact that you're easily one of the most under appreciated guys we've ever had in this game, I wondered how you saw the idea that you could be a Hall of Famer. How do you see it? Andre Miller: "For the most part, I think you hit it right (about his career). It's just being unappreciated, disrespected. There's a lot of words I could point at. But I think everywhere I've played, when you describe what an NBA player, what a superstar is, I think it's a player that makes people around him better, makes the team better. I think pretty much everywhere I've been, I've helped guys get better. I've helped guys get big contracts, and statistically I think the durability and everything playing into it, being able to play at a high level and only miss three or four games throughout my career is deserving (of Hall of Fame). Three or four games in 14 years, and I think I can still play at a high level worthy of being a starter in this league. This is the position I'm in with this team, but I think sometimes I can take it a little bit more personal. USA Today |

![]() Q: You'll likely start Ty Lawson at point guard, Iguodala at shooting guard, Gallinari at small forward and Kenneth Faried at power forward. What about center? George Karl: Training camp is going to tell me who plays. My idea right now is Mozgov would start with Faried and JaVale would stay with (reserve point guard) Andre Miller. But again, I don't (care) about starting lineups, and you guys are already stirring the pot. It's all about how many minutes you play, who you play with, how well you play and how we play (when you're on the court). Kosta Koufos is in the mix, too. Let's make sure you understand that. In the last 15-20 games of the season, when Timo got hurt, Kosta not only played well but good enough to get us to the playoffs. Denver Post |

Nuggets sharpshooters (and fans) can rejoice. Assist machine Andre Miller has agreed to re-sign with the Nuggets, two sources said Sunday night. The 36-year-old point guard is arguably coach George Karl's favorite player because of Miller's ability to make the proper pass and fuel the offense. The sources confirmed that Miller will sign for three years. Financial terms were undisclosed. Last season, Miller averaged 9.7 points per game and 6.7 assists in 27.4 minutes off the bench, backing up starter Ty Lawson and other times playing alongside him. Miller was instrumental in the Nuggets' Game 5 playoff win at the Lakers, which staved off elimination, thanks in part to Miller's 24 points and eight assists.
