The Magic will look to move little side pieces like Andrew Nicholson and Maurice Harkless, though it wouldn’t be a shocker if a front office that might be in some danger searches for something juicier. The Bulls and Spurs have assets in the cupboard, but neither has much record of in-season go-for-it deals. I could see the Bucks trying to dump Ersan Ilyasova, even if he’s the only traditional power forward left on the roster. Grantland

Alex Kennedy: Teams are calling the Magic to inquire about Moe Harkless. However, Rob Hennigan is asking for a ton in return (such as a first-rounder). Some believe ORL will keep Harkless/Nicholson and move on from Jacque Vaughn instead to see if a new coach could get more out of those guys. The takeaway is that Moe Harkless is viewed very differently by Rob Hennigan and Jacque Vaughn. Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

Between the Orlando Magic's games over the weekend, St. Bonaventure will honor Magic forward Andrew Nicholson by retiring his no. 44 jersey Saturday before its game against Rhode Island. Nicholson, 24, played four seasons at St. Bonaventure, averaging 17.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game on 57.5 percent shooting. He ranks second in St. Bonaventure history in scoring (2103 points). In his senior season, he led the Bonnies to the NCAA Tournament while earning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors for himself. Orlandoinstripedpost.com

Davis sat out the entire fourth quarter in the Magic’s 109-100 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He wasn’t having a great game, but as a veteran, he wanted the chance to be out there. Coach Jacque Vaughn went with second-year forward Andrew Nicholson (12 points, 10 rebounds) for all but 10 seconds of the fourth period. Davis finished with just six points on only five shots and had four rebounds in only 23 minutes. Nicholson had 12 points and 10 rebounds, but missed 3-of-4 shots in the final quarter and committed four fouls, picking up his fourth by shoving Cavs forward Anderson Varejao in the back. Nicholson was ejected and given a Flagrant-2. Vaughn said that Nicholson took exception to Varejao trying to show up the Magic by scoring a layup with 10 seconds left with the game in hand.
