HoopsHype Antoine Wright rumors

To me right there, that’s showing the coach no matter what situation I’m in, I’m always going to work hard and I’m always wanting to succeed. But it got to the point to where it just wasn’t working anymore. And I thought, before I start going through the motions, I just told myself I’m not even going to worry about it. Whatever happens, happens. If I get an offer to go overseas, I’m going to go overseas. If I get an offer to play in the States, I’ll think about it. NiuBBall.com

A source told me this morning that Antoine Wright, who last played in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors last season, is working out a deal with an undisclosed CBA team. Expect a lot of foreign player movement in the next few weeks as teams being to clear out disgruntled/underperforming players before the season gets too late. NiuBBall.com

It's early, but Sacramento Kings forward Antoine Wright has won an NBA award: "Mr. Average." The league said Mr. Wright, who had no single significant statistic through Sunday's games, has striking similarities to league-average height, weight, age and experience. That he's never averaged more than 7.3 points or 24 minutes a game in a season means "his play on the court screams average," a league spokesman says. Wall Street Journal

The Sacramento Kings today signed free agents Antoine Wright and Pooh Jeter to contracts, according to Kings’ Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Wayne Cooper. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed. “Antoine Wright and Pooh Jeter are two solid players at their respective positions who will add to our roster’s depth,” said Cooper. “Wright has five years of NBA experience under his belt and Jeter is coming off of a great summer league showing as he played for Cleveland’s team in Las Vegas.” NBA.com

The Sacramento Kings announced Friday that they have signed Pooh Jeter (and Antoine Wright) and Jonathan Givony later tweeted that the contract is "fully guaranteed." I rejoiced. Jeter, pronounced Jet-er, averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 assists while shooting 48% from the field for the Cleveland Cavaliers' Summer League team last week. Ridiculous Upside
