Oh, the Wolves will have their options, even after the top shooting guards -- Kansas' Ben McLemore and Indiana's Victor Oladipo -- go top 5 probably. They could choose Lehigh's C.J. McCollum, who's a great shooter but is point-guard sized at 6-3, or Georgia's Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who would fill Wolves need for both shooters and real 2-guard size. But don't be surprised if the Wolves end up going for a shotblocker -- Maryland center Alex Len if he drops that far, or maybe 7-2 French center Rudy Gobert -- for a team that lacks a rim defender. McCollum, 21, said he had an interview scheduled with the Pistons on Friday afternoon. He is familiar with the roster. “They have a very young team,” McCollum said. “I’m not sure if Brandon Knight is going to be the (point guard) or (shooting guard) for that team. “They have very good post players. They just took (Andre Drummond) and he’s definitely turned out to be the steal of the draft. “They have (Greg Monroe) so they definitely have strong posts and they may take a guard. Ben McLemore said Friday he has had a relationship with Rodney Blackstock, a middleman who courted the Kansas standout on behalf of sports agents and financial advisers, since January. "Rodney Blackstock has been great," McLemore said in Chicago at the NBA pre-draft combine. "Since Day One, since I met him, we have got that bond and communicating very well. And that's why I chose him to help me with this process." USA Today Sports

On May 4, USA TODAY Sports reported that Blackstock received complimentary admission as McLemore's guest to Jayhawks home games on Feb. 2, 11 and March 4. Asked Friday by Derek Page of Hoopsworld why he wanted Blackstock at his games as a guest, McLemore said: "Just because, you know, it was a friend, I just wanted him to see me play, see, you know, the atmosphere there at Kansas, and just go to a game." McLemore said that he was not aware that Cobb accepted money from Blackstock. And McLemore said he never accepted money, gifts or trips from Blackstock. Magic officials already have scouted the likes of Kentucky Wildcats center Nerlens Noel, Kansas Jayhawks shooting guard Ben McLemore and Michigan Wolverines point guard Trey Burke for months and months. Until now, however, the Magic and other NBA teams haven't been permitted to sit down and speak with any draft prospect. General manager Rob Hennigan and assistant general managers Scott Perry and Matt Lloyd will conduct the Magic's player interviews, which were expected to begin Wednesday night and likely will include Noel, McLemore and Burke. Each team may interview a maximum of 18 players, and each session may last a maximum of 30 minutes. Orlando Sentinel
