Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom has reached an agreement in principle to sign with Besiktas of Turkey and team up overseas with Nets star Deron Williams, according to sources close to Odom. Final details will not be sorted out before Friday, sources said, but Odom has indicated that he plans to join the Istanbul-based team as early as next week if the NBA lockout continues. ESPN.com

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal would pay Odom in excess of $2 million if he spends the rest of the season with Besiktas. The deal -- first reported in Turkey by NTV Spor and local journalist Mete Aktas -- will include an opt-out clause to return to the NBA as soon as the lockout ends, same as in Williams' contract. And Odom, sources said, is giving the offer real consideration after Minnesota's Kevin Love turned down the chance over the weekend to join Williams with Istanbul-based Besiktas. ESPN.com

The 27-year-old endured a slow start with the Istanbul club this season, including a dismal effort in a Eurocup Qualifying Round defeat to Dexia Mons-Hainaut when he made just six of 28 shots in the two-legged tie. But against Göttingen, Williams hardly put a foot wrong, drilling 17 of 23 attempts from the floor. He even made seven of 10 shots from long range. Ergin Ataman, the Besiktas coach, said: "Deron Williams, such an extraordinary player, put on a superior performance of a different level for the first time." FIBA.com
