The Minnesota Timberwolves have evaluated another group of draft prospects, highlighted by Lehigh guard C.J. McCollum. McCollum was watched by team officials at the Target Center practice court on Tuesday. McCollum worked out by himself. Before that, Illinois guard Brandon Paul, Georgia Tech forward Glen Rice Jr., Brazil forward Augusto Lima, Oregon forward Arsalan Kazemi and England forward Ashley Hamilton were in a practice group together. Dunkin’ Doug Anderson got his first NBA workout Thursday morning, and it happened to be with the Detroit Pistons. The 6-foot-6 Detroit Mercy small forward and Kalamazoo native is trying to catch the attention of teams with the athleticism and leaping ability that made him an ESPN sensation. Doug Anderson went against the likes of Solomon Hill of Arizona, Brandon Paul of Illinois, D.J. Stephens of Memphis, Loren Clyburn of Iowa State and Carick Felix of Arizona State at the Pistons workout. Detroit Free Press
The list of draft prospects -- mostly guys who will go undrafted or might slip into the second round -- for the Wolves' annual two-day camp here at Target Center this week is out. Gophers forward Rodney Williams is there, in the Wednesday's group. Princeton, Minn.'s own Jared Berggren -- by way of Madison and the University of Wisconsin -- will work out in one of Tuesday's two groups. Providence shooting guard Brandon Paul and North Texas power forward Tony Mitchell said they interviewed with the Pistons on Thursday night and UCLA guard Shabazz Muhammad said he was interviewing with the Pistons tonight. Detroit Free Press
Illinois sophomore center Meyers Leonard and junior guard Brandon Paul have submitted their names to the NBA’s undergraduate advisory committee to receive feedback on their draft stock, according to Illinois interim head coach Jerrance Howard. Howard said the players would hear back from the committee sometime this week. College players have until April 8 to decide whether to enter the draft or remain in school. ESPN.com
Howard believes Leonard could leave Illinois early for the NBA, but it's unlikely for Paul. Leonard, who is 7-foot-1 and 245 pounds, averaged 13.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks this season. Paul (6-4, 200) averaged 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals. ESPN.com
