What’s the weirdest piece of trash talk anyone has directed at you? Brent Barry: Bonzi Wells once called me an “Uncle John.” I think I knew what he meant. I think. San Antonio Current
The Basketball Jones' podcast has been a staple for the online basketball community for years now. With J.E. Skeets, Tas Melas, Trey Kerby, Jason Doyle, Matt Osten and Leigh Ellis providing entertaining content about the NBA Monday through Friday, they've really helped a lot of people learn about the game of basketball while making it a lot of fun in the process. As a tribute to their 1,000th episode, which happens on Wednesday, former NBA player Brent Barry did a rap video to pay tribute to the long-running podcast. In it, he fires off the names of every NBA player with the last name Jones that has ever been in the NBA. TNT Inside the NBA host Ernie Johnson gives the intro and there's even a special guest at the end to give the outro. CBSSports.com
Brent Barry: As I basked in that satisfaction I stood next to Tim Duncan. I said something like "Well that was fun last year, we should try to do this again!" He giggled his goofy giggle. And then I asked him how much he would give me if I kissed David Stern upon getting my ring. He offered a sum, I considered it and waited for my name to be called. As I approached the Commish I felt like I couldn't let my captain down. So after a quick ‘Congratulations Brent’ from David I hugged him and planted one right on his cheek. To this day, I swear he and grandma have the same skin. As I moved slowly from the spotlight as it found the next player, I casually glanced over to Tim and, wiping my tongue with my finger tips as if something flakey remained from my time with Mr. Stern, I mouthed the words: "You owe me a hundred bucks!" I swear I heard him laugh all the way over to where I stood on the court. buzzfeed.com
Brent Barry: Needless to say, in 2007 when I was a part of a second championship with the Spurs, things were not as spontaneous. I saw David in the locker room prior to the game as he usually makes it standard practice to visit the teams prior to the ceremony as he did in 2005. He stole a moment with me and told me there'll be no more kisses tonight. During the ceremony, this time David and I exchanged a look I will always remember. Best $100 bucks I ever made... buzzfeed.com
From the looks of it, San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili and his former teammates Fabricio Oberto and Brent Barry have formed the closest thing the NBA will ever to a boy band (we'll NEVER see LeBron, Wade and Bosh take a picture like this). Actually Barry made a trip to Argentina to hang out with Fab and Manu and Fab documented the highlights of "Bones'" trip on Twitter. Not sure what exactly is happening here, but if Barry is involved I support it. The rest of the trip looks pretty damn cool. Many of the pictures include Fab and "Bones" hanging out backstage with Pearl Jam. My favorite is this gem featuring Oberto and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. Are there any musicians or actors besides Charlize Theron that are tall? ProjectSpurs.com
