HoopsHype Caoching rumors
Bucks coach Larry Drew says he doesn't make a habit of conversing with opposing coaches after games. But when his good friend Doc Rivers pulled him aside after the Clippers' 114-86 win on Monday night, Drew made an exception. "He just pulled me aside before I left the floor and whispered a couple of things in my ear," Drew said. "I'd rather not say what they were, but they were very uplifting." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
It would be an understatement to say it's been a long, frustrating year for the Bucks and their new head coach, and Rivers can relate. While it may seem like ages ago because of Rivers' impressive accomplishments over the past few years, just seven seasons ago his Celtics won 24 games — the second-worst record in the NBA that season. "It's tough, but it's called a rebuild," Rivers said in his postgame interview with the media. "I've been through two rebuilds and it's hard on the coaches. Every night as a coach, you have to think you are going to win the game and it's hard." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
