Landry said he would like to return to the Hornets, but said he didn’t know if they will pursue re-signing him. “You just never know,’’ said Landry, who scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against the Rockets. “You hear one thing one day, and something (else) the next. You’ve just got to play every game like it’s your last. That’s all you can do, especially in a contract situation like myself. You can’t worry about if you are going to be here tomorrow.’’ New Orleans Times-Picayune |

![]() Forward Carl Landry said he agreed to only a one-year deal last summer because of the Hornets’ ownership uncertainty. But he said with Benson taking control, he’ll look at committing to the Hornets long term. New Orleans Times-Picayune “Having some type of stability definitely helps,’’ Landry said. “Going into a situation where you don’t know what’s going to happen, if the team is going to be there the following year, who’s going to buy the team, it’s uncertainty, instability. But going into a situation where you do have that definitely helps. “Being a free agent again this summer, the Hornets are a team I’ve been with the last two years and have grown accustomed to. And with the owner now, that definitely will help with re-signing with the team.” New Orleans Times-Picayune |

![]() When New Orleans Hornets Coach Monty Williams was asked about forward Carl Landry’s availability for Sunday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns, he appeared baffled. Though Landry missed his second consecutive game with a sprained right ankle, Williams said he had no idea what’s going on with the forward’s injury. “It’s one of those situations that if I say too much right now, I could be sharp with my words,’’ Williams said. New Orleans Times-Picayune “If you have guys who think these games don’t mean anything, those are not the guys we want going forward,’’ Williams said. “I’ve addressed it. It’s nothing new to our team. Trust me, we’ve seen it, and we’ve seen it here. “This is the time of the year where you find out who is playing for the right reasons and who isn’t playing for the right reasons. I’m not going to single guys out, but I know what I’m looking at. I’ve been in the league long enough.’’ New Orleans Times-Picayune When told that it appeared Williams was upset with him because of his unwillingness to play through nagging injuries, Landry said: “That’s fine, all coaches probably think that, especially with the contracts we have that are guaranteed. If you are hurt, you’re hurt.’’ New Orleans Times-Picayune |

Although David Stern was criticized for blocking two earlier trades for Chris Paul before approving last week’s deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, Hornets forward Carl Landry didn’t have a problem with the NBA commissioner’s actions. Landry said Stern’s decision was in the best interests of the Hornets, who have been owned by the NBA since last year. “He did what he thought was best for the team, so we’ve got a good team,” said Landry, who re-signed with the Hornets shortly after the trade was completed. “We got good pieces. (General Manager) Dell Demps and the front office did a good job and David of putting a good team together.” New Orleans Times-Picayune |
