The three former Nets players who find themselves on the Springfield Armor roster talked to the Atlantic Twine blog about what the Nets would like them to work out while they're down in the D-League. Ex-Net Ben Uzoh, who the Armor acquired in a Draft Day trade, and the Nets two training camp invites sent down, Carleton Scott and James Mays, all spoke about what the NBA parent club asked them to do. Carleton Scott was told to shoot, shoot, shoot and don't worry about missing... Being a shooter, flat out. I can shoot the ball at will in any situation. That's what I can bring here. That's what I'm going to do. They told me to work on shooting, to have confidence shooting the ball, not worrying about missing. Just doing that and getting better on defense. NetsDaily |

As the Nets complete the additions of Andray Blatche and Josh Childress, they're also handing out some training camp invites. The first goes to rookie forward Carleton Scott, who (sort of) announced the invite in a twitter conversation with MarShon Brooks, who's in Moscow. NetsDaily |

Early Saturday afternoon, Carleton Scott began the trek back to Notre Dame's campus following a workout with other NBA Draft prospects in New Jersey. Whether it's a mere layover or an extended stay in South Bend will be decided Sunday. Scott is set to meet with Irish coach Mike Brey at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday to discuss his future with the May 8 deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from the NBA Draft looming, a source told the Tribune. The lanky but explosive 6-foot-8-inch Scott acquitted himself well during the Saturday workout, another source who attended the event told the Tribune. Scott evidently did what he did for the Irish in the 2010-11 season -- rebounding and hitting open shots while not trying to do too much, the source said. Chicago Tribune |
