Miles deal, according to sources close to the situation. Twitter C.J. Miles participated in the Jazz's shoot-around Wednesday morning at US Airways Center, 24 hours before the NBA trade deadline. Miles' name has surfaced in possible trades in the last few days, but his biggest concern at this point is playing well tonight against the Phoenix Suns. "All I can control is what I do on the basketball floor -- play hard," Miles said. "Like I've said all year, my job is to play basketball, whenever and wherever it is. And that's what I'm going to do." Salt Lake Tribune Brian T. Smith: As of this morning, Jazz trading C.J. ![]() The Jazz are open to making a move before the March 15 trade deadline to improve the team, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned, but a deal isn't imminent. Utah also doesn't feel pressure to move starting big men Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap to make room for young power forward Derrick Favors and center Enes Kanter in the near future. The Jazz are still evaluating a team that has 10 contests remaining before the trade deadline, including tough home matchups against Miami and Houston, and a five-game road trip featuring contests at Dallas, Philadelphia and Chicago. Utah has lost eight of 10 and is just 6-13 since starting 9-4. However, the Jazz are only five games behind the fourth-place Mavericks in a stacked Western Conference, and Utah has not become a seller yet. Salt Lake Tribune |

![]() The Jazz remain open to moving starting point guard Devin Harris, league sources said, and reserve small forward C.J. Miles could be made available in the right situation. But Utah continues to take a long-term approach in building its team after the Deron Williams trade last February, and the Jazz won't make a move simply to pull the trigger. Salt Lake Tribune |

Excerpts from an interview Wednesday with Jazz forward C.J. Miles. Miles on his interest in re-signing with Utah: If they want me back, it's obviously great and I've been here — it'll be seven years. I grew up here, basically. I learned a lot here. At the same time, if it plays out like that's not the way they want to go and something else happens – it's up in the air. This is the first year I'll be unrestricted, so maybe it'll be a little different. It's just that's the way it is. No disrespect to anybody. It's just the way it plays out. If there's a situation; if it seems like this is the place to be at that time, then I'm definitely going to be here and want to be here. I don't have any problems. I feel like I've had great times here. And if the situation is up in the air and it plays out the other way, and they decide to go in a different direction and my direction is a little different, then [it'll] work out. Like you said, it's just pretty much up in the air. It's the first year there's any real — it could go any way. Salt Lake Tribune Miles: Every other year, I was restricted. And then this year they had my option and they picked it up, which I was very grateful for, obviously — I wanted to be here. I'm just going to continue to try to keep getting better and hopefully they want to keep me here. Salt Lake Tribune |

Brian T. Smith: C.J. Miles is also open to continuing his career with #UtahJazz, especially if organization wants him to remain. Miles acknowledged he's entering a different stage of his career, though, and he'll fully explore his options before making a decision. For the first time since Miles joined the Jazz, he has full control over his own future. Understands business-side of #NBA could dictate his next move. Twitter |
