One sign that the Blazers are seriously considering Zeller: Owner Paul Allen is attending the workout. Oregonian

The Suns appear to have assembled an impressive Wednesday workout group with Kansas shooting guard Ben McLemore, Indiana shooting guard Victor Oladipo, Indiana power forward Cody Zeller, UCLA swingman Shabazz Muhammad and French power forward Rudy Gobert, unless one of those players has come to town early for a different workout. Between Indiana coach Tom Crean’s media comments and the players’ social media, five players’ arrivals in Phoenix have become known and the Suns do have a workout scheduled today but have not confirmed the participants. Indiana's Cody Zeller stopped his slide in the rankings on Friday with a terrific performance in the athletic testing. While NBA teams take the athletic testing with a grain of salt, Zeller's numbers were hard to ignore. Not only were his numbers terrific for a big man, they were great for a guard. Zeller's stock dropped, in part, because there were several games in which he really struggled against long, athletic front lines. Seeing how well he performed in Chicago has given pause to NBA scouts and GMs who were ready to write him off. If Zeller can come into workouts and show teams he has a real perimeter game (he and his agents are promising he does) he'll can make a stronger argument he has the foot speed and athletic ability to make the transition to the four. If Zeller can convince scouts and GMs of that, he could very well move back into the top five. ESPN.com

Indiana sophomore center Cody Zeller declared for the NBA draft on Wednesday. “Attending and playing basketball for IU not only fulfilled my collegiate dreams, but it also has provided me with the opportunity to fulfill my lifelong goal of playing in the NBA,” Zeller announced in a press release. “While I will continue to pursue my degree in the future, I believe it is in my best interest to pursue my professional basketball career in the NBA next season.” SI.com

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Tyler Zeller knew his brother Cody would be holding a news conference to announce whether he plans to return to Indiana University for his junior year or jump to the NBA. What Tyler Zeller didn’t know was that the announcement would be Wednesday. What Tyler Zeller also doesn’t know — or claims not to know — is if Cody will be a Hoosier next season or a first-round pick. “I haven’t really talked to him since they lost (to Syracuse in the NCAA tournament),” Tyler Zeller said before Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. “I talked to him one time and it was very brief, joking around. I haven’t talked to him at all about (staying or going). It’ll be interesting what he does.” Indianapolis Star
