Hodges, 54, is a Jackson disciple and former 3-point shooting great. It’s known Hodges has taken second-round pick Thanasis Antetokounmpo under his wing. According to a source, Hodges thought Whitted’s loud and brash style was not working and his yelling at the players was being tuned out. Hodges has a more laid-back style. Another one of Phil Jackson’s ex-players is joining the Knicks The team has hired former Chicago Bull Craig Hodges as an assistant coach on the Westchester Knicks, the organization’s D-League affiliate, according to league sources. Hodges will join head coach Kevin Whitted’s staff. He is the latest former player of Jackson’s to join the Knicks. Jackson has also hired Derek Fisher (head coach), Kurt Rambis (assistant coach), Jim Cleamons (assistant coach) and Clarence Gaines (personnel executive). Jackson also signed and waived ex-Laker Lamar Odom. ESPN.com

Former Bulls guard Craig Hodges has emerged as a leading candidate to become head coach of the Knicks’ D-League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks. Hodges played under Phil Jackson in Chicago and worked for Jackson with the Lakers for six seasons. New York Daily News
