If they landed Nash via a sign-and-trade with Phoenix, the Knicks would not bepart with point guard Iman Shumpert, who the Suns liked in last year's draft. New York is willing to part with a package that features Landry Fields, Toney Douglas, $3 million and the non-guaranteed salaries of Dan Gadzuric and Jerome Jordan. Fields is a restricted free agent who could be signed to a deal while Douglas' contract could be seen as an expiring contract whose salary is more than covered by the cash component. The Suns could waive Gadzuric and Jordan at no cost. Arizona Republic

Mike Woodson announced that the Knicks will sign 6-11 journeyman center Dan Gadzuric and waive swingman Bill Walker in a move to provide depth and insurance for the playoffs. Gadzuric, 34, an athletic big man out of UCLA, will be added in case Amar’e Stoudemire and Jared Jeffries break down in the playoffs. Prior to signing with the Knicks, Gadzuric played for the Texas Legends in the D-League and overseas in China. Gadzuric's last NBA action came last season when he played for the Nets, appearing in 14 games. Gadzuric had played eight seasons for the Bucks after UCLA. "It gives us another big,'' Woodson said. "Just in case Jared is not able to come back from his rest. It gives us a veteran big that's been around that could use fouls and rebound.'' New York Post

The Hawks plan to sign a center and it almost certainly will be a guy on a 10-day contract rather than a permanent addition. Confirmed for the tournament are NBA Dutchmen Francisco Elson of the Utah Jazz and Dan Gadzuric of the New Jersey Nets – BallinEurope can’t help but speculate as to whether the latter will be using his off-time during the tournament to field offers from European clubs, what with the mass exodus of Nets to the Continent. Dutch center Dan Gadzuric insists that his future lies with the Nets, for the time being at least. Gadzuric arrived in Jersey last month from the Golden State Warriors but has seen limited minutes and was reportedly in discussion over a buyout. “I don’t think that’s going to be happening right now,” said Gadzuric. “I’m with the Nets, that’s who I’m planning being with and I’m happy about that.” ESPN.com
