Mike Wells: Pacers PG Darren Collison said he's seriously looking into going overseas. I expect more Pacers will start looking, too. Twitter

So Collison, then fresh out of dorm life and roughing it at UCLA, took a measured approach to moving into a new tax bracket in his first two NBA seasons. He bought himself a two-bedroom condominium in Los Angeles. His mom got a new Lexus. Mostly, the roughly $2.4 million Collison would earn with the Hornets and Indiana Pacers went straight into his bank account. "I've saved a lot," the Pacers point guard said Sunday at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, where his alma mater was playing Cal State San Bernardino in an exhibition game. "I don't really spend a lot. I don't really need a lot. I'm cool with the things I have." Los Angeles Times

Williams reportedly signed a $5 million contract with his Turkish team. He's scheduled to make $16.4 million with the Nets next season. "You don't jump at just any opportunity to go," Jones said. "The money has to be right and it has to be the right situation. That's why you have to think everything through first before going." Pacers T.J. Ford, Mike Dunleavy, Jeff Foster and Darren Collison said they are not looking to play outside of the United States. "That hasn't even crossed my mind," Collison said. "I want to see how things play out. I just want to stay positive as much as I can." Indianapolis Star

Pacers point guard Darren Collison, a game-time decision, managed to play 34 minutes on a sprained left ankle Thursday. "He played a good game," said Foster, one of only three players with 700 games in a Pacers uniform. "Anytime you play injured, it speaks a lot of the person. We're glad to have him out there." Collison injured his left ankle Monday when he stepped on a cameraman late in the first half of Game 2 in Chicago's United Center. The second-year point guard scored nine points on 4-for-8 shooting in the Pacers' 88-84 loss to the Bulls in Game 3. Indianapolis Star

Pacers coach Jim O'Brien has added in some theatrics by using a few unconventional rotations. Collison has sat in the fourth quarter at times while Ford played in crunch time, which has frustrated him. Friday night in Atlanta, he sat the entire fourth quarter in favor of Price, which really hurt, Collison said. "I don't know why I didn't play," said Collison, who has started all 19 games he's appeared in. "I'm not going to lie, it's been tough. Right now, I'm not used to it. It is what it is." O'Brien liked what Price could bring to the Pacers, so he got his shot. "I thought our best chance of coming back was with A.J. in the game because he spaces the court, he shoots the 3 and he also needed playing time," O'Brien said. "I also think he did a nice job." The Indiana Pacers have exercised their contract options on guard Darren Collison and forward Tyler Hansbrough. As per team policy, no details of the deals were announced. Collison was acquired in a four-way deal from New Orleans in August. He posted 12.4 points and 5.7 assists per game in his rookie season with the Hornets, who made him the 21st overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft. 13WHAM.com

How do you feel about that new point guard, Darren Collison? Danny Granger: I think he’s a very good point guard. He played in New Orleans and he was very effective playing down there playing with that team. I think he has a lot of potential to become a very good player in the NBA. Do you feel he can be your sidekick in years to come? DG: I think he can. He’s young and I’m young. I think we can be a lot of years in Indiana together. HoopsHype

Darren Collison joined 1070 the Fan in Indianapolis with the Ride and JMV to talk about how he feels to be a Pacer right now, how healthy he is right now, whether or not he was motivated last year by being passed up a number of times in the NBA Draft, whether or not he thought he would get traded to Indiana, what he learned from Chris Paul during his time in New Orleans, and what his goals are for this season. On what is it that he injured and how significant it is: “It’s nothing broken. It’s just fractured. I will be ready to go before training camp. It’s just a slow process right now. It’s not a real cast over it. It’s just a cautionary thing over it that keeps me healing the right way.” On whether or not he was motivated because he slid in the NBA Draft: “Yeah definitely it was a motivation tool for me. Anytime you get to play against teams that pass you up, you definitely want to take it personal. That’s something I thrive on, that’s something that fuels me, and it fueled me for my first year to prove to people that I can play this game.” Sports Radio Interviews

On whether he thought he would be traded to Indiana and when he first heard about them having an interest: “I actually thought I got traded there earlier in the summer, but I guess my GM told me it was a rumor or something like that. I thought I got traded to Indiana. Indiana was in great talks to try and get me there. I really didn’t pay too much attention to it because at the end of the day it was just rumors and you really don’t know too much about it until it actually goes through.” Sports Radio Interviews

When Collison was traded to the Pacers last week, he went from backup point guard behind All-Star Chris Paul to franchise building block in Indiana under legendary team president Larry Bird. It was like stepping out of the shade and into the sun. "I think you could describe this as a great opportunity for me,'' Collison told FanHouse by phone Tuesday afternoon. "And not just for this season, but for many years to come.'' The Pacers aren't expecting miracles from Collison -- just something close to one. They expect him to lead them back to the playoff picture for the first time in four years, setting a tone for the future that could make them at least formidable again in the Eastern Conference. "This team already has a lot of nice young players. Hopefully, I can help attract more,'' Collison said. "Why would you not want to play with a point guard you're comfortable with?'' FanHouse.com
