Jordan finished with 18 rebounds and seven blocked shots to go with his 12 points on four-for-four shooting. "I thought he was the star of the game," Rivers said. "I thought DJ not only gets the boards, he changed shots, he was everywhere. His energy tonight was amazing. He was a one-man wrecking crew." Rivers said it felt as though Jordan had 30 blocked shots. "Even the ones he didn't block, he changed," Rivers said. "I mean, they were throwing things all over the place because of him. I thought -- and he's been good all year defensively -- but I thought this was a Picasso." Los Angeles Times

The “away from the ball foul” rule, which is designed to thwart the “hack-a-whoever” strategy. Right now players such as the Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan and Rockets’ Dwight Howard (among others) may just get fouled and sent to the line because they struggle to knock down the two free throws. Under the new rule the coach of the fouled team can send any player on the court to the line for one of those free throws. That essentially makes it highly likely one of the shots gets made, which makes employing the “hack” strategy far less attractive. NBCSports.com

We spoke to DeAndre out in L.A. yesterday who told us he had NO IDEA Blake was being investigated by police for allegedly pulling a Zsa Zsa Gabor on a patron at Tao nightclub early Sunday morning. Interim Clippers CEO Dick Parsons testified earlier in the week in state court that Rivers told him on multiple occasions that he doesn't think he wants to continue coaching the team if Sterling remains in control of the franchise. "We're all going to talk about it," Paul said. "We're all definitely going to talk about it. Doc, Blake [Griffin], DJ [DeAndre Jordan]. It's unacceptable." ESPN.com

The Clippers could consider sending Griffin and Jared Dudley or Griffin and Matt Barnes to Miami to get James. The Clippers wouldn’t mind trading DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford and either Barnes or Dudley to the Heat for James, but the team knows that would most likely be hard to do. Los Angeles Times

As Griffin himself would explain, the mental part of his process is coming along quite well. The player who is so often guilty of being a cliché machine had a revealing moment when asked about the support he gets from teammates and coaches, one that bodes so very well for him and the Clippers going forward. "Whether you believe it or not, every NBA player deals with confidence issues at times," Griffin said. "Before every game, to hear CP, Jamal, (DeAndre Jordan), Matt (Barnes), (Darren Collison), on down the line to our whole coaching staff say, 'Go attack, go score, go do what you do' is a confidence builder. That gets me into the game. "Even when I'm missing shots and they still say that, sometimes I want to be like, 'Man, you guys do it for a little bit,' (laughs) but that's huge man. It's encouraging. I think it's big for our team." USA Today Sports
