Fast forward to last Wednesday night's "Tonight Show" when Cuban produced a letter he received from Trump way back in 2004 P.T. (that's pre-Twitter). Cuban's reality show "The Benefactor" – an obvious spinoff of Trump's "The Apprentice" – had just been cancelled. Trump wrote to Cuban, "When I initially called you to congratulate you on The Benefactor – little did you or I realize how disastrous and embarrassing it would turn out to be for you. If you ever decide to do another show, please call me and I will be happy to lend a helping hand." Yahoo! Sports

And with that, it was on. Over the last six days, Trump has mentioned Cuban in at least 17 tweets, criticizing his golf game – he is "short off the tee," a "weak man with a big mouth" and has "no clubhead speed" – his personality – "@mcuban has less TV persona than any other person I can think of. He’s an arrogant, crude, dope who met some very stupid people" – and his Dallas Mavericks – "why does @mcuban continue to embarrass the 31-35 & 11th place @dallasmavs with childish behavior." Yahoo! Over a week ago, Cuban said he would donate $1 million to a charity of Trump's choice. But first Trump has to agree to accept a quasi-blind offer from Cuban on what to do in order to receive the $1 million. “I did it all in fun hoping it would be a fun way to just to kind of kick in and raise awareness, and he didn’t want to go for it,’’ Cuban said. “Maybe I’ll just have to lend him the money and spend it for him.’’ Fort Worth Star-Telegram

The Donald Trump-Mark Cuban feud has been relatively quiet for a while now, but the Mavs owner threw down the gauntlet last night for his billionaire arch-nemesis. Cuban, appearing in a painfully long segment on Fox 4's 9p.m. newscast, which inexplicably included a basketball hoop and quickly descended into a mire of inane reader-submitted questions after anchor Heather Hays' increasingly desperate attempt to talk politics failed, did offer his thoughts on The Donald. "The offer he made for $5 million, that was one of the dumbest things ever," Cuban says at about the 3:30 mark, stating the obvious about the real estate magnate's recent to donate $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice if the president releases his college transcripts. That prompted Cuban to make an offer of his own. "Donald you shave your head, a million dollars to any charity you want," he said. Dallas Observer
